Autumn wine box. 3 Ribera del Duero wines

After the harshness of summer on the high Castilian plateau, exploring the Ribera del Duero during these autumnal months becomes a truly unique experience. Temperatures soften, and although some mornings begin with a white frost, by midday the sun still warms and is welcomed—an ideal alternation, they say, for the ripening of the grape.

The vineyards are cloaked in reddish and ochre tones, a burst of color where nature fully expresses itself. Eagles soar in the clear blue skies, while deer and rabbits frolic through the fields.

Strolling through this idyllic landscape, one can appreciate the variety of soils where the vines are planted, contributing to the diversity of the wines. Stony soils typical of the alluvial terraces left by the Duero over many years, finer deposits of clay and silt, and the semi-virgin limestone plateau soils that are just beginning to be cultivated.

In this new release, you’ll discover three types of Ribera del Duero wine made from vines planted in different soils—dare to appreciate their differences.

The soils of Ribera del Duero are key to producing wines with strong varietal expression, tannic structure, and aging potential.

Each soil type influences the final profile of the wine: from freshness and vibrancy to depth and elegance.

· 2 Bottles of Embocadero Joven Roble 2022 Vineyards located in Roa de Duero, Burgos, on well-aerated and deep loamy-sandy soils with a clay base, which give the wine structure and minerality.
· 2 Bottles of Viña Buena Crianza 2020 Vineyards located in Quintanilla de Onésimo, Valladolid, on soils rich in pebbles with a clay-limestone structure, offering good drainage and enhanced ripening thanks to the sunlight reflected off the stony surface.
2 Bottles of TG Altos del Enebro 2023 Vineyards situated in the highest areas of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, on elevated clay-limestone soils with sand and gravel. These soils are low in organic matter, which limits vine vigor and promotes aroma concentration, improving phenolic ripening and the wine’s freshness.
